Finally, I’ve been shown how to update this section, so hopefully will manage to keep you up to date with what’s happening on the grove.
We started our 2011 harvest last week, much to my relief, as the birds seemed to be enjoying the Frantoio olives, and I wondered how much they would leave us if we didn’t interrupt their fine dining! Chris Lockwood and a team of three others harvested for three and a half days while I operated the press. The results are looking promising, with a good yield and some full flavoured oil. We now have a week off before starting the Leccino harvest.
